Card for child in need.......SPECIAL POST please read!!

Good Sunday afternoon everyone!!

I hope my post today finds you well and enjoying your day!

I have a card for a very special little girl that needs a little smile sent to her.

A very special friend of mine (Michelle) has ask me if I could help her spread the word that a

CHILD is in NEED

of a few smiles.

Can you take time out of your day and make a card to send to someone that needs to be uplifted?

Haeli is this little girl's name and she is a 6th grader( 12 years old) in Canton Ohio. Haeli is dealing with a very serious disease that is very hard for an adult to deal with so for a child I can't even begin to understand.

She has a very rare form of ovarian cancer. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

Karen (Sugar Mama) sent me a few images to work with and boy oh boy they are just beautiful!!

Not even sure of the name of this little sweetie. But I do know that she will be in digi form and available on March 1 at Funky Kits.

I couldn't wait to show you this card. I thought that today woud be the perfect day. VALENTINE'S to show you with the romantic shabby chic vintage look to it.

The sentiment that I used is from Stampin' up I have also used trim, Prima flowers, ribbons, big pearls and a shipping tag. The circle has been cut with my Nesties that you can get at Michelle's Scrapbooking and more.

I have used the sketch from SKETCH SATURDAY

and then also over at CRAFTY CARDMAKERS the challenge is Floral.

I found a little wooden frame at the craft store and have covered it with papers from: 7 gypies, Daisy D's, Graphic 45

I have used the cutest little SUGAR NELLIE STAMP called LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE available from FUNKY KITS.

I have colored my image with copic markers and watercolor pencils. I have then added Crystal Lacquer over just the image.

Embellies used: pearls, flowers, butterfly charm, tulle, feather.

I have used my MS punch for the butterflies and my Recollections edge punch for the lace look at the center.

I have used distressed inks on all of the edges and I have sanded the whole project to give it that worn look.


Just a close up of the details and the little saying I have printed next to my image/picture.

I am so glad the this week is over!! It has been a very stressful one for me!!

This is my last posting as one of Karen's Fabulous five. Before I get into my project I want to thank Karen and the other DT girl's for a very fun year!!! I have made wonderful friends and have really enjoyed working with Karen and the DT girl's.

Now on to my project.. I hope you are still with me.. hee hee hee... A little long winded I guess. I will try and keep the rest of the post short. I do have lots of photos so you can see the details.

For my project I have used the Gingerbread Girl. She can be purchased at Funky Kits along with all of the other fun NEW stamps you have seen today on the hop. Click here to take you there.

I have made a recipe box and a free standing recipe card. The recipe box is a recipe tin by Provo Craft. I got to thinking that a free standing recipe card might be fun and something different. I have not seen one out there in blog land yet. Now just how cute it will be standing on the counter as you make your goodies??
On the tin I have used October Afternoon and Jenni Bowlin papers on along with Bazzil cardstock. I also have used some fun embellies by K & Company. I found some little cookies and the gingerbread clay boy in my stash. I have used trims and ribbons to finish off the tin.




Next is my FREE STANDING recipe card that with also fits so nice in my tin for those fun Holiday recipes to be kept safe.


Here is a photo of it from the side so you can see how it stands up.
I have used the same paper line as the tin and have added lots of ribbon and a doily behind the image.

I have colored my Gingerbread girl with my cropic markers and watercolor pencils. Added a little acrylic paint for the frosting and of course I have to use my stickles on the fur of her coat.
