a little bit of change....

hello everyone......

I hope this post finds you all well. Things in my life have changed a lot over the last few years. I truly miss my bloging and ALL of my bloging friends. I started this blog many years ago with my crafting in mind and have shared lots of that with you. My favorite was all of the cards and stamping things that I did. As some of you know I can't do that anymore. I did get very ill back in May 2013. I tried and pushed myself into 2014 and just couldn't do it. So I had to stop and retire from all of the design teams and also my day job. I became a stay at home SICKY. I had to get well. I now am on feet as good as it will get for me. I have now come to terms with that. I do what I can to keep myself busy with different kinds of crafts and DIY. I can't use my hands to do the little detail things anymore like color, cut, stamp and so on. So with all of that out in the open now.
I want to share some of the stuff that I do get done and just things that go on in my life daily. I do hope that you will still support my blog as I have always had a lot of friends/followers with my paper crafts. But if you choose not to follow anymore I do understand. I do want to thank all of you for the support that you have given me over the years.

Let me give you a little bit of what I am doing now and what kind of things that I will be sharing here. I have gone back to my roots with the quilting thing. I have made many quilts in the last few years for my children/family as I figured I should get it done before I couldn't anymore. But I CAN DO IT without problems. I enjoy it and it keeps me more than busy. I now have a 14 foot longarm quilting machine and have started to quilt for others. I will be sharing quilts that I have done myself and quilts that I have quilted for clients with their consent. I also will be sharing some DIY projects that I have done and will be doing. I also will be sharing some of my recipes with you. So my blog will now be a little bit of this and that. I hope you will take a minute and say hi as I do miss my friends/followers.

Today I am going sharing a couple of quilts that have made for my granddaughters last Christmas. Both quilts are bright and fun for teenage girls.

I have used a block pattern from the 101 block magazine for this first quilt then have made my own design in putting it together and adding my own style of  border blocks and borders. It has been quilted with an all over end to end design.

This second quilt center was made from a pattern found in a Fons and Porter magazine and again I did my own design to finish the quilt out.

Now how about something that is sinfully yummy?
Oh my gosh!!!! These will melt in your mouth!!!
I found the recipe on facebook. I believe it is a Courtney Luper recipe.
These are now a huge favorite at our house.

So moist and delicious!!! Not hard to make either.

BANANA NUT BROWNIES

Ingredients:
1-1/2 c. sugar
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
1-3/4 cups (3 or 4) ripe bananas, mashed
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Brown Butter Frosting:
1/2 c. butter
4 c. powdered sugar
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 tbsp. milk
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375F. Grease and flour 15x10-inch jelly roll pan. For the bars, in a large bowl, beat together sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs until creamy. Blend in bananas and vanilla extract. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and blend for 1 minute. Stir in walnuts.
2. Spread batter evenly into pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
3. Meanwhile, for frosting, heat butter in a large saucepan over medium heat until boiling. Let the butter turn a delicate brown and remove from heat immediately.
4. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract and milk. Whisk together until smooth (it should be thicker than a glaze but thinner than frosting). Using a spatula, spread the brown butter frosting over the warm bars (the frosting will be easier to spread while the bars are still warm).

Thanks for stopping by.... If you have a minute I would love to hear from you.
Until next time...Have a blessed weekend.

How fab that you've found something you can still do, despite having difficulties. I can certainly relate, and am so happy for you that you can still be creative.
That quilt looks gorgeous! It's something I've considered trying myself, but as I don't have a craft room, I guess I need to stick to just the one kind of craft until we move somewhere bigger! :-) x
