MAGNOLIA VINTAGE FIRST AID KIT..............

WELCOME !!!
Today I have my DT project for
Magnolia Down Under

to share with you today!
I am so excited to share this project with you!!

This week we have a very fun challenge going on!
TEXTURE
this means flock, corrugated cardboard, dry embossing folders, fabrics and so on......

If you pop over to the challenge blog you can see all of the beautiful little pieces of art by my teamies and get all of the info to enter your challenge project!

As you can see I have done 3 projects. Which truly is just one BIG project. If you keep scrolling down you will find lots of photos of the different projects.

Here is a photo of what this project started out to be... A very old wooden cigar box and a box of band aids.

I have seen that the
TOMIC Blog wanted to see something Recycled so I thought this would be perfect for that! Then one of my favororite Challenges blogs COLOUR CREATE (waving to my old teamies) wants to see Kraft, Red and white. So this was a no brainier for me!! LOL.. Then the Sweet Stampin Challenge blog wants Strawberry, chocolate and cream. At SIR STAMPALOT the challenge this month is ..As you please. And last but not least Totally Gorjuss wants it AS YOU LIKE LIKE.. Well this is the way I like... Vintage and fun to do!!! LOL...

Now lets open my cigar box up and see what I have inside...

As you can see I have decorated the inside of the lid with a pocket to stuff and few things down in. I have a fun note paper that I have embellished with a band aid, pill bottle and doctor tools. I have also used my #307 MINI NURSE TILDA and put her on a matchbook note pad. I have the cute little band aid box sitting on the corner of cigar box. And the inside of my first aid kit is packed with first aid things.

This is a close up of my #307 NURSE TILDA on the front of my cigar box. You can see that I have used some fun stuff to help embellish my little first aid kit. I have used Prima Flowers, paper flowers, feathers, button, raffia, bakers twine, ribbons, trims, tag, corrugated cardboard that I have used white paint on and then a bit of Ranger distressed inks, chipboard photo corner with a flower button, doily, glass beads, Jolee sticker type art, Tim Holtz ticket, pearl pin, the bow knot is fine mesh gauze and I have put heavy weave gauze behind some of the layers, and some mesh. I thought that the gauze was perfect to ue for this project!!! I have used Glimmer Mist on the guaze and the doily
I have used my copic markers to color my images and I have put little white dots around my image with paint. I have used my spellbinders nestie for the oval lift of the image. Then around the outside layer I have used my #3 TILDA LACE DIE around it and added stickles. The DoHICKEY is 10% off at MagnolisLicious right now!! The little tag hanging from the bow does say FIRST AID KIT on it that I have done on the computer then added Ranger inks and crackle accents to make it look old.

Close up of my little matchbook using #307 MINI NURSE TILDA and my altered Band Aid box with #111 Banage EDWIN on it.

For the Matchbook I have used my small Spellbinders nestie. The Band Aid box I have used a few Jolee sticker type embellies, chipboard photo corner with a flower button. I have added ribbon and lace and a tad bit of mesh at the top under the BANDAID sign that I cut off of another box of Band Aids and put Bazzill cardstock behind it.

Here is a side view so that you can see all of the lift of each layer.

Papers: October Afternoon, Bo Bunny, MME and Bazzill cardstocks.
Now remember that all these image are availbel at MagnoliaLicious store where the serve is excellent and not only can you find Maggies and Edwins but lots of other things to help with you stamping needs.

Now wouldn't this be fun for years to come??

I can't wait to sit it on my master bath counter. It just might be something fun for my grand child to remember my house for when they grow up. As I am more than sure they will be the ones that I have to used it for the most.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!!!
I hope that you can find a minute to leave me a comment so that I know you have been here. I would love to hear your thoughts on my VINTAGE FIRST AID KIT.Photobucket

My first thought was how much would that "old" wooden cigar box be worth now.....LOL My second was what a gorgeous project and how creative you are. Then my third was WOW, that must have been a lot of work and taken awhile to complete. I always admire the amazing talent you have and your ability to create outside of the box. Hope you should win everyone of those challenges. "Love & Hugs" Carol

OUTSTANDING, Janiel!!! I am SO PLEASED I headed back to the posts that you made right at the beginning of my holiday - I would have hated to have missed this. You always makes such amazing projects and this first aid kit is sooooo pretty on the outside and soooooo pretty (and practical too) on the inside. I just love the bandaid box and the notepad with the embellishments. Your imagery is stunning. I hope, however, that you never have cause to use it!!!! Big hugs, IMTAP! Lesley
