Colour Create FAMILY MEMORIES box...

Helloooooooooooooo EVERYONE!!!!!!

I'm so excited to post today!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all Sharon over at Colour Create ask me a few weeks back to join their team for the challenge!!! I just love this challenge because you can use any stamps that you would like. The challenge is for you to use the colours that are given. They give very unique photos for inspiration along with the colours. Did I say I love it!!!! Tons of talent over there on the DT. Come on over and check it out if you have not. They have prizes each week set up and everyone LOVES a prize!!!

Sharon THANK YOU again for inviting me to join you ladies!!

And for my second reason............I have been gone on a small holiday and I was having withdrawlsfrom my blogging... LOL....

This weeks colour combination at Colour Create Challenge is blue and white and with a vintage twist...........

So this is what I came up with.....

Not a true blue but never the less it's blue. It's a wooden cigar box decorated for all of those little special things that I don't want to put in my boy's scrapbooks. Special pictures and little things that my boy's have made me when they were young. I have made this to sit out on my coffee table in my living room. I had a blast making it.

What do ya think???

I found a very small wooden frame that did have the word FAMILY craved in it at the top. I took the glass out and put in my very cute little image. If you will look close at the image I did add some lines with my acryic paints to make the box she is sitting on look like it is a wooden box. I have taken my Autumn Leaves swirl stamp and put a few on the frame after I painted it and sanded all of the edges. I also add a few pretty pearls and stickles.

Here you can see the I have also lined the inside of the box with my papers so that it matches inside and out. I used my white acrylic paints for the edges of the box. I sanded all of the edges with my sand paper files and roughed it all up a bit to give it a very warm used feel. I have also inked all of the edges with destressed inks.

Here in this photo and the next you can see the detail up close. See all of the pretty perals and the stickles along with all of the pretty prima flowers. Notice the beautiful flower centers that I have made. I used Chatterbox pewter snaps and they had a hole in the middle so I took my Kaiser perals and added them in the middle. And what some interesting old vintage looking flowers they became. The heart charm is gold tone with rhinestones that match the clasp to close the box. So I was thinking....... oh boy I need a silver of some sort on here to balance out all of the different metals. That is when I added the flower spacers to the swirls. But then again they had holes in them and I did NOT like the look so I added the perals to the top of those and I really think they are a beautiful vintage touch.

Thank you for stopping by to see my new creation. Please leave me a comment so that I know you stopped by. I love to hear from you and love to hop to your blogs and say hello.

Have a great Thursday with many blessings, janny
