Hope all is well on the HOT HOT HOT Sunday afternoon, I am melting!!!!!!!!!!!!
I finally have my July 4th BBQ Baskets finished. I have made 2 of these sets. Okay, where to start?
I found the baskets at a local craft store and have taken paper and put it on the upper lip of the basket on the inside and out. I have also put paper on the handles. I have stamped the cute little Bumble Bear Image by Renee Mullins and painted with my watercolors pencils and added it to the front of the basket after matting and sewing it. I added a few prima flowers, ribbons, buttons and brads. The *GET TOGETHER* is from a piece of old paper I had in my stash. Next, I took my ketchup and mustard bottles and put different papers on them with a little bit of ribbon. Look at all of those cute little ants going around the bottles of the bottles. Next, was the root beer bottles. I have decorated with different papers and those cute little Tilda and Edwin images. Just how fun it will be to drink that root beer. :o)
items in the basket includes:
2 acrylic glasses
4 paper plates
2 acrylic bowls
2 sets of plastic ware wrapped in napkins with a bit of ribbon
1 dish towel
1 American Flag
Now of course you have the mustard and ketchup bottles and the root beer to drink. But what is a picnic without a little popcorn and a windmill with prima flowers?!?! . :o)
I will be giving these baskets to my 2 younger son's. The one son is going to the beach in CA for the holiday with girlfriend. They will be having a BBQ at the beach and are to take their own eating utensils, drinks, and condiments. Chips, meat, and buns will be provided. So this is what sparked this grand idea. I couldn't make this set for just the one son so I made a second set for the other son that also will be going to a BRING YOUR OWN BBQ. So I am thinking these cute little gift baskets will be more than handy for the holiday. I hope they enjoy them.
I will be posting this set at 3 different challenge boards. First will be Stamptacular Sunday Challenge Board. The theme is *PARTY ANIMAL* so this would work well for that as I have the cute little bumble bear on the front of the basket. The basket is also for a BBQ Party. So party on!!! Next will be Creative Inspirations The challenge is #14 Anything but a card. Well this is not a card. :o) Then for the last one over at Roses on Paper Challenge #14 and you are to combine challenges and add flowers. Today is the very last day so I cut that one MORE THAN CLOSE. phewwwwwwwwww
I hope you enjoy looking at my set. I hope it has inspired you to make something fun and different.
Thank you for all of the comments that you leave. I understand that at times you can not leave comments on my blog. I looked into this and it seems to be more than just my blog. So I did remove my music player and my followers side bar thingy. Thinking that should help for the time being while blogger gets thisl fixed.
Have a great day,
janny
